    X1900 .. :|

    Ok I'm going to cry...
    Just read:
    http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2006/01..._radeon_x1900/

I bought an X1800XT just before xmas.. and if this article is anything to go by.. the X1900 is /far/ better.. and .. cheaper?! Gah I didn't think there would be such a huge step-up from the 1800. Always happens to me :'(

*goes off into a corner to sulk*

Might attempt to sell my 1800 and buy a 1900.
We cannot choose what we are.. but what are we but the sum of our choices?

Its really not that much faster. Only in pixel shader intensive games.

The X1800 is still a great card. Why do people always say this kinda crap, lol.

correct me if im wrong but if your "my system" is correct your probably limited to 1280x1024 anyway so it would probably make 0% difference changing to a X1900. In fact the X1800 is kinda wasted (but nice to know its there if need be ).

And i was happy with my X800 until Ati forced catalyst control centre on us *shudder*

on similiar point - thinking about going for the X1800XL from scan, but not desperate just yet (can still play everything i want, albeit at low detail with no eye-candy). anybody have any inkling if we are going to see an x1900xl in the nearish future? would rather hold of for a month or two if we are, but otherwise might as well take the plunge now..

scan currently has the sapphire x1800xl for £190 - v.tempting... ...but is there an x1900xl around the corner?? - haven't heard/read anything about this, but it would make sense if there was...

IIRC that thing is not a XL, it's a XT AIW. I dont think there is a XL for X1900, the XTX is the flagship while the XT is the equivalent of a XL in X1800 family ?

Just get the X1800XL, if you want a card at that price, you can't beat that. Or you could pick up a second hand X1800XT.

the XT is only clocked 25Mhz under the XTX, so it's not really an XL-equivalent. The 1900AIW is clocked right down to 500Mhz (according to guru3d)- but the (US) pricing is only $50 cheaper than the XT, so even if i could find em, would be paying for a lot of functionality that i'll never use... x1900xl is pure speculation on my part, but it would make sense to me -- surely not all the R580's they've produced are good enough for XT and there's a supply of chips waiting to be clocked a bit lower and sold as XL? ...ah well -- reckon i'll go for the XL from scan unless anyone knows of a secondhand XT waiting to be purchased for about the same money...

AFAIK there isn't going to be an x1900xl this time around!
Of course if the market starts to demand it I'm sure ATI will happily oblige

personally, i read the hexus review 1st and then made use of hexus's webtastic review round-up to skim through a couple of other reviews as a way to avoid working for 20 minutes...
