    OMG, my 2001FP...

It looks like after letting the monitor run 5000 hours for the past 1.5 yrs, it is wanting some revenge

On the right upper corner, where you usually have the minimize, restore and close windows buttons. Not to mention the window bar and the task bar, know what...

IT FREAKING IMPRINTED ON THE MONITOR.

When I was wondering what is the greyish spot on the upper-right, I move further right and see the CROSS!!! I'm on the desktop with no windows, connected to DVI so there is no ghosting, but WHY THE HELL IS THERE A CROSS!!

Guess everyone need to take good care of their LCD monitors so they won't revenge...

I'll post some picture if my dc can pick up the spot.

Now where is the cry smilies...

Noticible with green / sea-blue / pale-blue only but still...

LCD's can't burn in, it's not possible. Plasma's and CRT's generate light on the actual pixel, but LCD's don't, they just transmit light through from a backlight.

Don't tell me the Liquid Crystal can become polarised either, as the way they work, they change the polarity every scan, so EVERY pixel is being switched every scan. It would take a very bad design to screw up the LCD electronics somehow, and I don't think Dell do.

Anyway, that's been my understanding from working with them.

He's not making it up, I too have seen it on mine. I have the 1800FP and noticed it on a black screen while CS is loading.

Of course the pixels don't burn. However, they are covered with whatever the hard bit is (touch your monitor screen.. thats what i'm talking about. That's what it's burnt onto.

Not tried an all white screen myself however haven't seen it since. Will have a quick look now......

Nope, seems to be gone. Must be temporary.

    Wouldn't worry about it mate.
