Hi, basically i'm looking at getting either one of these for myself either tonight or in the weekend depending on how long it takes to decide which one i want? so this is where you come in. :)
After looking at many reviews and opinions in forums, it seems the ATI card is the better when it comes to performance when adding the AA and AF, however what i want to know is do you think it's worth the extra £20 over the 7800gt?

Well if you spend £200 don't you want to use AA/AF? Answerd your own question i feel heheeh.
The X1800XL also overclocks like a beast, and voltage can be changed easily using ATI-tool though still not as 'clean' as a real volt mod.
Performance is similar, X1800XL is slightly down on the 7800GT in being able to pump out as many frames as possible. Once you get to higher res's and add AA/AF the X1800XL has a bit of an advantage
The X1800XL can be a noisy card so I would look up reviews of the exact card you may be buying to see what the comments on its noise is. Ditto for the 7800GT for comparison noise wise.
£20 isn't a lot at the end of the day so the choice between the two cards is more down to personal preference than anything.
I'm not sure which one i want :S so annoying when not to choose, they are so similar and i'm not sure what monitor im going to get to pair with my new gfx card! where is the cheapest you have seen both these cards because i have just looked again and the x1800xl price has rised from before when i last checked by 10-50 pounds from various sites :(. I really dont want to spend for than 215 for that card, so unless i can get it for that much i think i might just go for the 7800gt as its still a beast in it's own right.

are tekheads reliable mate? never really heard of them before.
Bought from Tekheads a few times and never had a problem..
Tekheads are are a great site, used them many times.
210 is a pretty sweet price for the XL.
k, thanks i'll have a good look in the tekheads site if they have any other bargains. I think i'm going to go for the 7800gt.
