    Video in AGP card recommendations?

I'm looking to capture some video from an analogue source - I currently have a Ti4200 with ViVo and it does the job - just wondering if anyone can suggest a card with a little more grunt that doesn't break the £100 barrier, or is that too much to ask?

That's if this card is capable of doing this, has anyone done this using this card if so how did you do it.

I was going to suggest the same thing, but re-reading the post it suggests that the Video capturing facility is currently fine, but wants a better gaming graphics card.
I'd go with Scan (getting good service from there, plus free postage for Hexus posters).
Try the same capture device here, plus a decent graphics card such as this 6600.
Total is just over £100, free delivery

Have edited the above to change to AGP, although these are not as good value. Best to spend at least £20 more for something like this 6600GT although it does blow the original budget a bit.

I do have the cables from my old one , I'm just unsure whether it would work as my current one is a Geforce and not an ATI - it has SVideo and RCA in/out plugs. It's still really weird to sell a VIVO card, but not supply the VIVO cables!

Because it's not vivo, Avivo does not mean video-in video-out, it's the new reference for advanced imaging and video.

No. Avivo cards will not take video in, even if you had a cable, unless there were also by complete coincidence VIVO (without the A) aswell.
As Filbert correctly spotted (you old eagle eye, you), it's Avivo which is a new name ATI has made up, not V.I.V.O. which is short for Video In Video Out.

If I was you I'd look for a s/hand 9800proAIW, or a x800vivo, new agp cards with vivo under £100 are hard to find.

    I've seen this at dabs,click
I've just seen the x600 at overclockers where they say "ATI Avivo™ (Video-In Cables not supplied)" Even they don't know what Avivo means.

thanks for clearing that up! It looks like the x800 may be the one to go for - a little more expensive than I had hoped, but still

If you haven't already purchased a card, consider the nVidia 6600GT AGP with VIVO (video-in, video-out) at @ £100. I've got one of these from Gigabyte which is passively cooled, and it comes with the break-out box which allows you to input either composite or SVideo (BTW as well as outputting in these standards, it can also do component). It works extremely well when I use MovieMaker to record from my standalone Freeview box, and it does full frame (i.e. 720x576) without dropping any frames.
