    G71

So, When wil this beast come out? Still March?

If thoes specs are true it should be able to slash ATi about in the benchmark round. And it will mean its time for me to upgrade.

"We have got to know the specs for the upcoming 90nm G71 series already. There will be two models as we have revealed before; the GeForce 7900 GTX and GeForce 7900 GT. However, the performance differences between the two models seem to be pretty huge and we can expect quite a huge price difference too. We have yet to confirm on the number of pipelines on the 7900 GTX and GT but current sources point towards 32 and 24 pipelines respectively.

GeForce 7900 GTX will be clocked at 650MHz core / 1.6GHz memory and has 512MB GDDR3 1.1ns memories onboard while GeForce 7900 GT will be clocked at 450MHz core / 1.32GHz memory with 256MB GDDR3 1.4ns memories. We have also heard that GeForce 7900 GTX will win Radeon X1900 XTX in most benchmarks so we shall eagerly wait for the launch on March 9th at CeBIT."

I thought it was April - 3 months from the tape out and the tape out was Jan.

I think we've got to see higher speeds than 650 otherwise when ATI release there next card the 7900GTX will be old hat.

If finances are good at that time, I'll certainly think to invest if my 7800GTX card is still worth something.

Hopefully the release of this makes the 7800 series come down in price a little.

I wonder why there making the differences between the two cards (gt/gtx) quite big.

Another thing, anyone seen a direct reveiw between the 7800GT and the 7800GTX? Or got any personal experiences with the two, looking to purchase one in the future .

Needs new monitor / speakers / headphones / keyboard.
Before that i need money :s

Double that figure and you're in the same ball park as what a GTX costs over here

We dont stay in the US mate were still paying upwards of £350 ($700) for256MB GTX cards and £580 for the 512MB GTXs here. Which isnt great value when you can but an X1900 XTX for £400

Edit: didnt mean that post to sound arsey but it did a little sorry

Heheheheh 650 Core. It's already down 50mhz from what is was 2 months ago.

It will most likely be faster than the X1900. But with AA, and max IQ? i have doubts.

Maybe they don't need to clock it so high to beat the X1900 cards
