Need help being sensible over picking a monitor

I need a monitor recommendation (TFT). Its will be used as an office-style machine, only for doing work on. However, crisp text is necessary as I hate working on crappy LCDs that I've used in the past where everything is slightly blurry (over D-SUB, anyway). I spose DVI is a requisite then? Erf that bumps prices up, and is it just me, or have prices shot up for monitors recently anyway?

Speakers are not necessary, nor particularly wanted.

Please advise, I'm on a budget with this so quote me happy

I own, well used to before I gave it to my father, a Digimate 17".. same as that one there, awful Blurry as hell. Text was a pain to read. Have I been spoilt by DVI and expect too much of LCDs? Or is there just a lot of crap around on the market?

Would never buy from Aria after the horrendous experience I know more than one person to have had with them :|

I own one, but that'd be overkill for this task and way too expensive, I'm trying to keep prices as far below £200 as possible while still retaining the quality on this!

Well the Samsung is a smidge below £200 and I use it for a lot of office apps.

The AG Neovo F419 19'' TFT is an awesome all rounded TFT monitor. Has VGa and DVI. 12ms and is such a winner!

Do you have the res correct on your current LCD monitor? If you ahve it lower or higher than the native res then it will be up/down scaling the pixels!
I had a 19" (1280x1024) for a year now, and it's never been blurry, on VGA (D-sub?) connector.

As it's for business use i'd recommend Samsung Samtron 73V 17" TFT or AG Neovo 17" F-417 Black/Silver - They don't look anything special but priced competitivley (£130-150) and can use VGA connection. Just make sure gfx card can support 1280 x 1024 resolution at 75hz.

If you want to go for a DVI solution then Kempez is a good suggestion.

The LG Flatron 1715 is a d-sub monitor but has really clear text, and (when it came out at least) was top of its game. It can be picked up quite cheaply now aswell

Ps Work ordered about 80 of the AG Neovo 17s, good for their price point, but nothing to write home about.

As dave87 says go for an LG - another recommendation from me (tried and tested monitor)

Heres a nice 19" at a very good price from our good friends at Scan:

http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=324963

Please do not skimp when buying a TFT - Ive seen plenty of lower end (cheaper) 17/19 TFT's and the general quality is poor.

I own the Digimate 17" one that was linked and I dont have any problems with blurryness. Maybe you just got a dodgy monitor?

No 19"s, all way too expensive!

As for Iiyamas, I'd love too, but they're all fairly expensive in comparison, however they are good monitors. Lacklustre styling though.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, I think I may plump for a Samsung 74v. (http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/produ...uct_uid=104715)

The 73v was mentioned above, I presume this (74v) is just an updated model, eBuyer has free shipping on it, and is cheaper than the 73v! I've used plenty of Samsungs before with a good experience, and it is a nice price.
