X800Pro with pipelines unlocked and stable at 540/510 (or so - I haven't given it a thorough test yet)
Just went from GTO2(first batch) to POV 7800GT 504-1218(will go further great card)
Keeping it old school with a 9800 Pro. Does then job, but will upgrade very soon. (Though may hold out for M2 before I make the switch to PCI-e now!)
Currently on 7800GTX (Gigabyte) @ 490 1300
I only use it for DOD:Source and it runs the game smooth at well over 100FPS :)
Will upgrade to the G71 in April in preperation for the Unreal 3 engine (Quake Wars) :D
9800 pro being stretched as far as it will go for a while yet...still runs most of my games at pretty good gfx settings!

Your system is basically what I had until Xmas :). I had a Jetway motherboard and XP1900+ though. Going PCI-E and 939 is a huuuge performance increase. I cant believe how fast games are after getting my new graphics card today.Quote:

my 6600GT play games fine at 1600x1200 (or 3200x1200 sometimes) without the eye-candy. Couldn't justify to buy a high end GFX card :(
In a month I went from 6600GT > 6800GS > 7800GT. Definitely noticed a difference in speed and quality from each step up.
went from Radeon 9800pro to 7800GT - play everything at 1280 x 1024, but now able to set all the eye-candy on! huge differance in image quality

6800gt on agp clocked happily to ultra. Not sure if that really makes any difference! Won't be upgrading for a while as I only play aoe 3 and dow.
ATI 9500@9700pro, still plays my games ok.
I'll only change it when I can afford to go to pci-e.
nVidia 64MB GF4 4200 (because my ATI 128MB 9800 Pro died). Possibly going to get a new card soon (X800 GTO2 / GTO16 or 6800GS). Obviously need to go PCI-E first though
I'm still hanging onto my 9800 Pro and socket A Athlon 3200 - still serves me nicely (well just about) on the latest games ^_^
When I say nicely, its anything but a super low res and super low graphics options - with my budget I can't justify buying a graphics card once every year to keep AA on!
Sapphire X800 GTO² flashed and clocked to X850XT. Could probably go further but I dunno how much of a gain I'd get from pushing it to XT PE and beyond... plus I'm still on the stock cooler.
What did you have your GTO² at 'cause I've been wondering how much of an improvement a 7800GT(X) would be.Quote:

scored 6600 in 05 with 535-589, there was more in the card in both core and mem, core could hit 540/2 mem could hit 609/11(stock cooler/no volt mods), heat was not a problem, the card needed more volts, it would have went further, great card,Quote:

1st edition Connect3D X800GTO, unlocked to 16pp and clocked to 570/570 with a VF700-CU. Scored 7005 in 05, which outscored my old GTO2 by 400 for £40 less (£114) :) Awesome card, although undeservedly in the shadow of the GTO2 during the big unlocking orgy of 2005. I don't think the new C3D X800GTO's unlock, which is a big shame.
I got the Sapphire X1900XTX as a replacement for my X800Pro flashed to XT, tbh I don't think it was worth the money. I can't see whats sooo good about it except its rediculously high 3dmark scores, ingame FPS I am beaten by an X1800XL which is pathetic. It's not my hardware or drivers because all has been tested and switched around, I'm not too bothered because I can keep a hold of it until they release the R600 or G80. I think I may get the nvidia variety though tbh...

Recently acquired a 7800GT.
Currently running a ATI X1600 pro, the agp version of this card and it's certainly a step up from an FX5200.

X1600 - 14576
so you can see it's a big difference

I use a Radeon 9550. The main reason being that I'm on a budget, and as my ENTIRE system (minus monitor) set me back £250 in total (Sempron based, self build), there's no way I could justify the same amount on just the viseo card. Would not be any point either as the rest of the system would bottle-neck it!

Depends really, a Sempron 754 is really just as good as their A64 counterparts.. Clock it up and you'll notice that it really doesnt make that much difference.Quote:
