Horrid performance x800 GTO 256

For some reason, my x800 doesnt seem to be performing well. I have re-installed xp, formatted, the partition with games,has been formatted too, latest direct x, latest chipset, latest display drivers. What on earth is going on. I even added more mem 1.5gb ddr2.

I seem to have a problem with the latest install of the catalyst drivers. i used driver cleaner to start over, and still having issues. catalyst control center wont start. I choose to only install the base drivers and no catalyst control center, will i still have full control over the card like aa & af options etc ?

If the CCC won't start the obvious question would be have you installed the .NET Framework v1.1?

Yes I did. Do you think I should re-install it, or better still install version 2.0 ?

No v2.0 is different

I found this thread showing how to remove and reinstall the v1.1 package, maybe give that a go

May I add, i think I mis labelled the thread. Under direct x it says I have x800 GTO, but in actuall fact it is only Sapphire x800 256 pci-e....is it ?
