    overclocking sapphire x800 256 pci-e

Im overclocking my x800, now the stock clocks are 390/350. I seem to have managed to puch them to 417/450 stable. Does that seem right ? the mem is 100 over !!

If anyone else has had some good success with clocking this card please let me know. For some reason the performance dont seem like what it used to be, even aftrer clean install of windows, latest drivers etc.

Holla at me also if you have this card

    Regards

See if u can get it 500 Mem without artifacts.. The core should be able to hit 450ish, 417 seems rather low..

Well when i was trying to find max core and max mem, it started beepng when the mem hit 455, so i dropped it by 5 and set. and the core hit 422, so i dropped it by 5 and set. you think it can go higher, do you have any guides anywhere ?

none sorry, just based on what im getting from my m8s down under.. Cant remember which manufacturer, but its a x800 vanilla with mem running 500MHz and cores hitting 460MHz..

Probably its just a good batch with better mem chips.. hopefully others have more realistic number..

as with overclocking anything its always hit and miss.
what are you using to overclock the card? and what cooling have you got on it?

Well, ATItools are sometimes a little rigid.. My 6800GT hits a wall around 437MHz using ATItools.. but it runs fine up to 450MHz with 1.6V.. No artifacts watsoever..

ok running 424/459 now, and dont seem to be any problems. im still trying to work out why i get a little jerkyness when going onto a new part of a map in cs, or looking around at a large landscape or when alot of players on screen.

ive got a raptor 74gb system, apps, games
    maxtor 250 sata everything else.

Should i put the pagefile on the raptor or the maxtor ? i have 1.5gb of ddr2 ram

Jerkiness in HL2 often means a weak CPU.. If u dun mind a little adventure, a little overclocking wouldnt hurt.. Getting it up to 3.4ish should fix that..

I've overclocked on stock cooling (side case off) from 3.0 - 3.2. Also i have noticed, after a minute or two in cs:source, the game locks up like its about to crash, then the sreens go black like the pc is about to crash/restart then plays fine. Im overclocking the card on stock cooling (424/459). After this though, the game plays pretty well, and I can even run AA4 & AF4 with on a small server 16-20 man, no jerkyness, and 24man+ little to none. Anyone here have a similar setup as me ?

Well, thats fien then... CS:S tends to slow down alot when u throw in lots of bots.. Try running a 32 bot game and just see how ur system get crippled down to its knees

Dun mind me, it even happens to my dual core 3800+ X2 at 4600+ X2

I think its the pcu (intel) which is becoming the bottleneck in my system. Just dont cut the mustard for games.

But the thing that I do want to know, is why the game locks up after couple minds, acts as though the pc is having heat attack. And then plays fine afterwards. Do you think it is down to the fact that im overclocking ?

Perhaps i should get myself a 7800 and then i wouldnt have to bother with overclocking.
