    x1900xtx or 2 x 7900GT

Hey guys, just need some quick advice

Would you go for an x1900xt-x or 2 x 7900GT? It works out at roughly the same price. They'd be paired along with an A64 3500+ @ 2.5Ghz, 1Gb RAM on a DFI NF4 SLI-DR motherboard.

Games I'd be playing include BF2, WoW, HL2 and its various mods, on a Dell 2405. Ideally, I'd like to play them at its native resoultion, with some filtering on, such as AA and AF.

    Any advice muchly appreciated.

I think SLI and CF are a bit of a waste of time to be hinest but I spose thats IMHO

The ATI card will give you a more consistent framerate over multiple games/apps.

The SLI setup will give you better performance on a few games/apps but worse performance in 90% of cases.

That was the conclusion I came to after spending more money then I would have liked to to find out ....

Where can you get 2 7900GT's for one XTX?

XTX's are going for 350quid now if you look hard enough.

    7900GT is 199 all in at lowestonweb.com

So, XTX is the way to go yeah?

    Hehehe I wish

I just know which card gives the best overall gaming experience having blagged a mates long enough for a play. Not long enough for a review though (he wanted it back damn him )

The AF on ATI cards is currently far superior to Nvidia's
