Which card? Mr Scrooge at it again.....

The more I look, the more I'm tempted to get a half-decent card for this 2nd rig, that orignally wasn't planning on it being able to play anything (e.g. CS and DVD's), but I must resist!

At the moment, for consideration, I have:

Geforce 256 32Mb SDR (utreality) - £14 inclP&P
Geforce 2 MX 32Mb (guy on hexus) - £15 + P&P
Matrox G200 8Mb AGP - £5 - no P&P as local
ATi Rage 8 mb AGP + drivers + white box + del = £5 incp P&P

or I'm looking at this one:

Which one would you go for? I'm trying to not spend money, but if it's only £5->£10 more for a half-decent card, than a 1/8th decent card then it'd be worth it.

Go for the GF2 256, i had one and it was a superb card that overclocked well :D

None of those will give you very good performance in any of today's games. The Gf2 Ultra you linked to will be the best, though.

It's for my 2nd rig - I've got a ti4200 that I'm v. happy with in my main one, just after something that can play a bit of CS and maybe a DVD or too :)

You can play a DVD with any graphics card providing the processor is up to scratch.

I think the ATi Rage card must be as one of the worst graphics cards ever. OpenGL-compitable my arse!

Go with the GF2 Ultra if you can, I reckon.

The GF256 SDR (not DDR) is about par with a GF2MX depending on the game, etc... but both are better than the matrox & rage

Yeah, get the Ultra. It actually beats the GF3 (Pure) in some benchmarks, which isn't bad....
