Any 19" LCD's with 16.7m colours and low response times?

For some time I've been eyeing up the NEC LCD20WGX²(20" widescreen, 6ms, true 16.7m colours and all on an IPS panel) but unfortunately it's just too expensive.

So, are there any 19" panels with <8ms response time, that are full 8bit panels?

The Viewsonic VP930 and the Samsung 970P are both 16.7m colour panels w/ rated response times of 8ms and 6ms respectively (G2G). The Viewsonic seems to be about £307 with the Samsung a little more. There's the Belinea 10 19 20 as well, which uses the same panel as the viewsonic but is a bit cheaper.

BeHardware has quite a good round up of various 19" panels including the 2 above, that may help.

I got a VP191, which is almost the same panel as the VP930 (only slightly lower contrast ration), and its a beautiful screen.

Hope that helps

I have a ViewSonic VP2030b - a bit bigger and pricier, but fantastic. ViewSonic are all generally first class, as are Sony, and Samsung
Try to make each and every day the best it can be.

I've got the Samsung 970P, which I think is a superb monitor! Its looks, ergonomics and overall specs sold it to me. It has a relatively high price tag, but its biggest downfall is that it has no on-screen controls. It's software controlled instead, which can be a bit of a pain at times. Although I don't tend to adjust the controls all that much - so it ain't too bad!

Wait till tomorrow and I'll tell you - my Scan order just despatched .

Although I'm only playing Oblivion at the moment and for the foreseeable future, so as long as your question is "how is the VP930 for Oblivion?" rather than "how is the VP930 for games in general?", I'll be able to let you know .

I don't have Oblivion, and don't intend to get it .

But I'm sure performance on oblivion will be reflective of game performance in general, so do let me know .

If you're on a budget it might be worth checking out the Viewsonic VP920. It's like a cut down version of the vp930, but the specs are looking good and it's listed as £234 at ocuk (only people to stock them so far unfortunately - think it's a very recent addition to the Viewsonic line!) It's what I'm thinking about getting anyway

Played Far Cry, UT2k4, a bit of CSS, Oblivion... (as well as a few RTS) on the VP191 and they all run great. You may notice a very slight amount of blurring initially, but your eyes soon adjust.

Right then. After a weekend's playing with it, I have to declare myself thoroughly satisfied. I need to have a go at the colour, and for some reason the software that ships with it just doesn't let me do any kind of adjustments at all, but apart from that I'm pleasantly surprised. Never having had a TFT at home before, I wasn't sure what to expect, but it's not bad at all. I can't notice any blurring.
