ati driver problem. dont have permission to change catalyst......

sorry if this post is in the wrong section.

Hey. Recently installed cats 6.4 and on reboot i was met with an error message saying that i dont have permission to change the catlayst control center please contact the administrator.

this left me a little puzzled as my XP only has one account and thats obviously an administrator account. The error message appears everytime i reboot and whenever i try and start up the program.

I unistalled 6.4 and went back to 6.3 because that version didnt use to do it. But now it does, i contacted ati and they were no help as usual.

any ideas?

I'm having the same problem myself and have yet to find a solution so i would like to know also.

Im pretty sure i had the same thing a few months ago. It just seemed i hadn't uninstalled properly.

Make sure you add/remove everything ATI first, then re-boot in safe mode, use Driver Cleaner Pro, re-boot and install new drivers.

well i solved the problem but unfortunatly it ment a fresh install of windows. Cats 6.4 works fine now so i dont know what the problem was. I thought it was an issue with .net but i couldnt find a solution.

sounds like the old ati registry permissions problem to me
