I would still say that Atitool is the best (or least bad) program for x18/900 overclocking.

If you disable the two ati services and then make sure you only change clock frequencies when there are no 3d windows up it shouldn't be a problem.

When do you get the crashes happening with Atitool?

Yeah, I get idle temps in the 50's and load (after a blat on Oblivion) of around mid 70's, that's with the XT clocked at XT-X.......seems OK to me, and the temp drops back down in no time

Anybody order/got the Sytrin KuFomula VF1, it looks superb, have been searching around for one of these for a while, IIRC there is a version without the fan

I have the stock cooler, although I replaced the stock thermal compound with some AS5. My idle temp is in the low 50's (51 typically) with the fan speed at 27% and under load it normally gets up into the 70's. However, because of the fan settings that I have made under ATI Tool, it does get quite unreasonably loud sometimes.

I would pay lots of money for a silent heatsink that would direct heat out of the case like the stock cooler does. Quite why Arctic Cooling designed a solution for BTX, I will never know...

When you replaced the thermal compound did you also have to get new thermal pads for the RAM or were they undamaged by the removal of the HS? I want to know because I really want to re-seat my HS to get a few degrees if I can and I don't want to do it untill I know wether I have to order some new pads.

    Ah thanks

I was worried about that because I'd have to order them online and pay extortionate amounts of shipping for something that could be sent in an envelope otherwise.
