Thinking of setting up Dual Monitors...

    Hey,
I have a Winfast Geforce 3 Ti500 and I have read that none of the Geforce 3 series supports dual monitors. I am a bit confused to this as my card has a DVI output and an S-Video socket too, does this mean I can connect another monitor using the DVI connector and use two monitors at the same time or am I going to have to buy a new graphics card?

    Thanks in advance,

    Levis

i did have a Geforce 3 in my backup rig which i tried to do dual channel on and it just dosent work. From what ive read it totally lacks the ability to support dual channel - if u try connecting one monitor to the analogue, and one monitor to DVI then u'll just get the same image on both screens which im sure isnt what you want

Sorted it out, have bought a new graphics card on the cheap and a brand new 19" TFT monitor to accomodate my 18.1" one. Woohoo.

I have read that you can't run dual display off 'any old' graphics card with two outputs, that the card had to specifically support dual display. I am sure i saw something about using a cheap card with a dvi-i out and a normal analogue out to run 'dualies'. I am intending on getting a pair of TFT's so when I buy a graphics card[soon] I will want to buy one which support's two displays. a definate answer?

Some cards have both DVI and D-sub sockets, but both sockets are connected to the same source, and are just there for conventce, rather than d-sub users haveing to use a DVI-to-D-sub addpeter.
    - I have a Geforce3 Ti2000 card like this.

Most newer cards support dual moniters, im using a ATI 9600pro for my twin 19" ( Then an old PCI card to power a little 15" CRT, my token 3rd screen.
