Is there a factor of which I am not taking into account?

    MSI 1600 XT

    GPU 587 MHz
    Mem 1386MHz
    12 Pipes

    7600GT

    GPU 560MHz
    Mem 1400MHz
    12 Pipes

Ok, so as far as I know those are the three most important things, so those two cards are in effect almost exactly the same.

Ok I know it doesn't exactly work like that, just wondering that's all because I have bought all my computer now except the card and I'm just a bit unsure as to what to go for.

    Many thanks

    Ash

    Hello,

    The memory interface is important.

On paper the 7600 should be quicker.

Most reviews seem to suggest that the 7600GT out performs the 1600xt.

Yeh most reviews say 7600GT is better and they clock very well, a few memeber on other forums have had some mad overclocks and perform pretty close to 7800GTs

I think in terms of price > performance, the 7600GT is the tastiest card on the market right now.

7600GT FTW, these cards are much more capable than that x1600xt tricycle.. no offence to anyone using them..

I was pretty skeptical about the 128bit memory bus, and 12pp.. but turns out to be even faster than a 6800Ultra/7800GS.. X1600XT cant even best a 6800GS, while a 7600GT almost eclipse a 6800GS in certain titles and keeps a healthy lead across all games.

MUUUCH better value for money AFAIK..
    Me want Ultrabook
