yes but also twice the price! by the time that coems out the x1800 will be around the 180 mark!
I thought they had stopped making x1800 cards.
You should get one for about £250 I reckon though

If you decide to upgrade you`d better choose PCIE.
7600GT or X800GTO are both cheap and powerful.
X1xxx has a high frequency but low efficiency

So despite this being on an AMD64 3000 (which makes jack all difference in 3dmark 05), I score 9k compared to his 7.7 on a heavily oc'ed card?

That 7848 was probably scored on a 16 pipe 7800GS with 256MB of RAM
The GS Im talking about has 24 pipes with 512MB. Basically its just a default lower clocked 7900GTX which could possibly be clocked up to GTX speeds.
Sorry mate but I think it will be faster than your beloved 1800XT.
Have a nice day

Oh the irony...the thread I linked to is about the new gainward 7800 AGP GT (was known as GS when first put on overclockers).Originally Posted by Kef9

Edit: Would this be the card http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/sho...hp?t=17553212? Beloved eh? I'm just saying what's true, couldn't give a toss otherwise dude
No because that card has 20 pipes and is based on the 7800 core and the one im talking about has 24 and is based on the 7900 core.Originally Posted by Robert
you can find it on overclockers below the one your talking about.
So you need your glasses tested im afraid.
Anyway I still think it will beat your 1800XT regardless.

Would that not be based on an 7800GTX then? There will be a 7900GS you know? Seeing as in quite a few thing the 1800 beats the GTX...I can't see a GS doing anything?
Its based on the G71 core. they are still just calling it the 7800GS though for legal reasons.
But anyway I'm fed up with this silly bickering. We could argue all day. Lets just be friends

I'm having a discussion with you mate. None of my posts hace shown any malice. I'm just saying that there will be a 7900gs, so why is the 7800gs based upon the 7900?
I dont know but read this.Originally Posted by Robert

Maybe they cant be bothered waiting for nVidia to give them the go ahead to release 7900GS cards.
Its great news though for people with AGP. I just wish they would bring out a single slot version so it can go in my shuttle.

7900GT performs about the same as the 1800XT unless massively overclocked, possibly slightly worse in most reviews I've seen - where did you get the idea it would beat it?Originally Posted by Kef9
OcUK are selling the 7900GT AGP version at £350 inc VAT! They have a This Week Only deal on the X1800XT 256MB which is £170 inc. VAT. Two cards, similar performance, but one is HALF THE PRICE of the other. For the money the AGP 7900GT card costs almost any buyer is going to be far better off just biting the bullet and going PCI-E. I'm having trouble thinking of anyone for whom it would make sense to buy that card.
How about the fact that it has 512MB of RAM instead of the usual 256MB.Originally Posted by Barkotron
In terms of who the card would appeal to; How about me and other SFF owners who cant chop and change motherboards as they choose. Also there are people who are not that confident about ripping there PC's innards out.
