x800 GT VS 6800 GS
I haven't posted on Hexus for ages, so thought I'd post m question here, basically, I've ordered an OcUK Nvidia Geforce 6800 GS 256 PCIE Card, just wondering if it's going to be any faster than my current Power Colour ATI Radeon X800 GT. A friend of mine reckons the 6800 is a poorer card in comparison, so answers on a post card please.
I play CS:S, BF2, FEAR, NFS MW, plus other games, the thing I noticed about my x800 GT is that ATI Tool says it's got an R423 core, and from what I've read these are the slowest cores of all and it only has 8 pipes and you can't unlock anymore.

yes the card is weaker, but it has SM3.0 support so more eye candy in the games that have SM3 support... CS:S, BF2 performance will suffer and probably NFS:MW aswell... FEAR performance will go up.

A 6800GS would be faster.. You're comparing something like a 6800GT here..
Overclock that 6800GS, its going to be almost as fast (perhaps a little slower) than a 6800Ultra

6800GS supports openGL better. It will play faster in the games such as BF2,FEAR,DOOM3.
I`d like 6800GS better.
and memory is also impotant for games.~at least 1G for the games you played

6800GS is a better card, definately. It also has sm3.0 which helps loads in games like Oblivion.
