PNY 6800 GS or Powercolor X800 GTO

I'm trying to choose between these two: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814131010

    or

Alright, I was hoping to opt for an EVGA, BFG, or XFX 6800 GS, but they're impossible to find now (due to short supply), let alone find them at a sub 200 price. I don't really know if PNY is a reputable company. Perhaps someone here might know. Powercolor seems to have recently enacted a lifetime warranty for cards after January 24th. Though, I don't know if it applies to their older cards, too.

Moving on. I was comparing these two X800 GTOs on Newegg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102608

    and

As you can see, the Powercolor model has a 475 mhz core clock and 900 mhz memory clock and the Sapphire has 400/980. Now, I'm wanting to know if the Powercolor model is running on the superior RV420 core as opposed to the typical RV430 cores used in the X800 GTOs, such as the Sapphire I listed.

If it does happen to be the RV420 core, that'll really make it a hard decision between the Powercolor X800 GTO and the PNY 6800 GS. If it does happen to be the RV420 core, how much of an overclock do you think I can get out of it (core and memory-wise). I've already recieved the instructions on how to flash the bios of even the RV430 core GTOs (apparently it can be done now; I've seen someone on this board do it).

I know that's alot of questions, though, I'll take any answers I can get at the moment.

The 2 GTO's are pretty much the same although one review stated the Sapphire had an R430 which effectively means you can unlock it to 16 pipesas opposed to 12. I'd personally go the Sapphire GTO as even at stock it will outperform the 6800GS slightly although doesnt have sm3. The image quality on ATI cards are also better and if you unlock it to 16 pipes it should undoubtedly whoop that 6800GS.

    A GTO outperforming a 6800GS?

I really dont think so.. Do recall although a GS has only 12 pipes, it is essentially a 6800 nu on GDDR3 steroids..

Havent checked out reviews for these cards for a while, but I remember these as being the best mid-range cards before the 7600GT actually came about. At stock they are as good as 6800GT (16pipes), and 6800GT generally fared similar to the R420s..

When overclocked, they can be as fast as a 6800Ultra.

If you ask me, 6800GS versus X800GTO? no contest unless its a X800GTO*2.. but even then a 7600GT makes all of the above look minute is comparison..
    Me want Ultrabook
