7900GTX 512mb

I've just ordered one of these but I haven't a clue about them, I haven't been reading much about PC's recently. Are they that much of a jump from any other series?

I currently have a 256mb 7800GTX, will I notice any difference? I have to run my games at 1600 x 1050, my Monitor is one of those Dell 20" Widescreen ones.

Don't think I have a game that is jumpy with the 7800, is the newGhost Recon one which needs lots of power?


Also, I have been told it comes with one of those big coolers as in here:

Will it be as quiet as my Zalman 700Cu on 5 Volts? My machine is built more for silence than performance.

Have I just been stupid in ordering this new one? I think I saw the 512mb part and bought it.

no u havnt been stupid yet,what you will want to do is sell that 7800 while they are still in demand for other people wanting sli like me

playing at a high res which you do you`ll see a nice performance boost going from a 256mb to a 512mb card.
