X1800XT 256 What's Your Overclock???????

I've just fitted My X1800XT256 with a Zalman 900

ATI tool crashes whenver I moved ANYTHING, so I am using the catalyst OC tool just started messing and its set at 675/754 - shiuld I expect more or ???

What are you guys getting.......................

Seems very cool at 42c atm running oblivion

use auto detect on CCC and see if it goes to the max the sliders allow, then take it from there. And yep ATi tool is useless on these due to a known bug.

Auto CCC has detected 689/797 Sounds pretty ok to me.... Any Thoughts??

great stuff, push it further using whatever clocking program you like (i liked ati overclocker) and test for artifacts using 3dmark.

But looks a goodun.

Is there a way of monitoring temperature whilst gaming....just to ensure I don't fry my lovely new card - and what temperature is safe to go to ???

I have a feeling to you need to use the latest beta version of Atitool (0.25 beta 14) rather than stable version as this doesn't have x1000 support.

you will see artifacts etc if the card gets too hot and I think it will probably auto shut down before it gets too hot. the X1800/1900 series have high temp thresholds afiak

Played oblivion for an hour or so and the Catalyst control centre is registering about 52c, i guess thats ok?

Using the stock cooler the temps reach 60-70C when playing oblivion on my system. No lock-ups so your temps look very good to me.

X1800XT 512MB.. 54C idle, 70C on the core and 74C on the regulators.. fan ramps from 23% below 65C to 50% above 65%.. I dont mind the 50% noise as my headphones are top notch..

Max clock I ever bothered to go was 700 / 1620 on that ATI overclocker tool..

Sorry about slightly changing the subject here urr but does anyone know of anything that you can use to measure temps in game? An overlay thing like FRAPS or something. Obviously SpeedFan but I have to end the game and by the time I see SpeedFan the temps have dropped heh! And the AtiTool does have an X1000 series update fix....don't know if it's stable though!

Rivatuner monitors your temps constantly.

ATI is borked , it re-boote my system on start up often.

The ATI overclocker and CCC use very slack memory timmings to achieve memory overclocks.

There really isn't any decent tool, still which is pathetic.

Systools.. they even takes the courtesy to log them for you into a nice .txt file..
