Connect ScanFX 7800gtx to lcd tv

ive took the plunge and ordered an lcd tv and i was wondering what the best method of connecting the pc to the lcd would be, mainly so i can get the cables ordered.

the lcd has a vga input, component input and also HDMI. it has a native resolution of 1366 x 768 and will do 1080i.

the cards are dual 7800gtx and they have got 2 x dvi outputs on them.

ill only be using it for gaming and occasional surfage.

so what have other poeple found is the best way to connect for the best pic quality?

i was thinking a dvi-hdmi cable/adaptor might work, or a dvi-vga cable cable/adapter, or does component look decent enough? i think the tv is pretty good a scaling if needed, but i wont know until i have a tinker with it.

    anyone help me out please?

    cheers

I have an LG panel and I connect a PC DVI-DVI, I've also done this using a DVI-HDMI cable and it worked just fine. This was connecting the panel to a 7800GT. Its pretty simple to set up mate - you should be fine.

ta mate, did you notice any difference in picture quality between the 2 methods you used? im interested to hear from anyone that has done this using component as well...just out of curiosity more than anything.

depending on the native resolution of the LCD tv, ull only notice a difference if ur display drivers try to output a resultion higher than this. Check the panels specifications to see that the DVI and HDMI connections both take the same resolution inputs, and use ur preference. DVI-HDMI shouldn't make that much of a difference, as ur TV should use scaling to amend the resolution to its native.

I saw zero difference in picture quality using either DVI-DVI and DVI-HDMI, I just switched 'em back over to take another look in fact. Dragon is bang on about scaling, your panel will take care of this - I'd also add that you can set the cards output resolution and timings from inside the nvidia driver, there is a nice tab with TV timings/settings that you can use. Works well. Not tried component though.
