ATi 9600XT Replacement
A little while ago my 6800GT broke and at the time I couldn't afford to RMA it (stupid I know, was a bad time for me though) and I borrowed my old 9600XT from my girlfriend's PC. It worked fine up until recently when it just stopped working in either PC. Am replacing my whole PC soon anyway so am not that worried about why 2 cards died in a short space of time anymore.
Anyway, since the 6800GT is now out of warranty and the 9600XT is such an old card, what AGP card would you get to replace it (it has to be AGP as it's going back into my girlfriend's PC, she rarely uses it but when she does she likes to play games like Sims 2)? I've checked and as far as prices are concerned the 6600GT seems to be about the same price range, but how does it compare?
I don't wanna get a weaker card and short change her, but I don't wanna spend more than £100 as the 9600XT isn't worth that much anymore.
What would you recommend?

6600GT should be quite a bit faster than a 9600XT, and easily capable of playing something such as The Sims 2.

X800 or 6800xt are both fit for your need~

As far as I can see, they're pretty much identical except the cheaper one has a faster GPU and Memory rating, why would you pay more for a slower card?
Anyway, that Gigabyte looks like it can do the job nicely for £88, not bad. :)
Kensou, I think the X800 and 6800 range are a little overkill and maybe a little too expensive at the mo. :)

:)
i prefer the gigabyte,too~
6600gt is also a good choices for openGL games such as DOOM3, BF2, Q4~
with the high cost of the PCBs of 256bit memory, the X800 and 6800 series won`t be too cheap.

Well, I managed to pick up an X1600 Pro for around £80 inc. Am using it at the moment until I get my graphics card back, and it's superb for what my g/f needs anyway. It also runs everything I'm running very well indeed, so am pretty happy about that.
