    17" or 19" TFT

Was considering purchasing a TFT to make room and replace my flatscreen 17" Samsung CRT unit. It the sharpness and quality the same on like 17" and 19" screens given that they have the same pixel count and operate at 1280x1024?

Would also be interested in people's opinions on the better ones below £200 mark, had in mind LG 1917 or Samsung units but would be playing some FPS and DVDs.

    Thanks.

Well, most people go for 19" TFT's these days. I am probably the exception! I have tried a 19" Widescreen. It was nice but had problems with it. I then tried an ordinary 19" TFT but i found it too overpowering for me. So, i am looking to buy a 17" TFT now after seeing them in action. Nice size for me.

I am looking at the Xerox XAP 17" TFT and the Samsung 730bf 17" TFT. Both nice TFT's.

I have noticed that some TFTs have glass fronted panels but how do they perform especially the Xerox?

Anyone with experience of the weekly offer 22 at Komplett: LG 19" screen? I noticed it is 12ms but wouldn't be too sure how it would perform in DVD/FPS games.

Does seem a good price though.

BTW, the pcnextday price for the Xerox XA7-19i is very good, especially compared to Komplett at the moment!

Never bought from them but overclockers uk are selling this and have a 7 day dead pixel warranty from delivery which may be for all Xerox monitors sold - good idea to check this with pc nextday I reckon.

Looks like 19" it is then!

Anyone had experience of or know any reviews of LG-1917S-SN? It appears that there is an 8ms and a 12ms but would anyone clarify this as their contrast ratios differ also?

    Cheers!
