20" Wide gaming monitor, opinions ?

Hi, I am in the market for a tft screen to replace my old Samsung 17"crt. I was planning on getting a 19" screen and my main use is gaming and internet with the odd bit messing around in photoshop.
However for a bit more ££ I noticed this Viewsonic 20" Widescreen
    http://www.viewsoniceurope.com/UK/Pr...E2/VA2012w.htm

Does anyone have any experience of this monitor ? I don't know much about tft's but I know Viewsonic's are supposed to be decent panels.

    Thanks.

Oh, and I'd be hooking it up to a 7900gt if thats relevant, thanks.

I just forked out for a vx2025 ... ... there's enough other options in the 20" wide range to add to the confusion! Scan have a bunch of viewsonics on offer this weekend (plus they all dropped by 5% or so in price a week or so ago...

p.s. www.tftcentral.co.uk has a lot of reviews and links to other reviews...

Thanks, I didn't know they were on offer at scan, I'll check it out. Keep hearing about backlight bleeding with the vx2025 though. I hear that Viewsonic have a pretty good dead pixel warranty on the vx /

I went for the vx2025wm in the end from the Scan weekend deal. It came today and so far I am impressed.

I can see some backlight bleeding on mine but not sure what constitutes "bad" backlight bleed and until I've used it solidly for a while I won't know if it annoys me but I think it's very slick so far!

I get it too but I'm unsure wether it is actual bleeding, when I change my angle of vision it seems to go away, it's more like a glare.
Still only noticed it once, and so far no bad pixels. I am very pleased with the screen, and as for Half Life 2 on max settings in widescreen

ditto the move my head and the glare disappears thing, but 3 of the 4 corners have a distinct glare that requires a distinct angle to not see it ... only noticeable when the screen is dark for example the XP loading screen, but it is there. Don't think it's worth retunrning though as I'm not going to use it for movies much...

My poor old gfx card cannot manage HL2 maxxed out at native res still looks damn fine though
