Hi, I'm after a widescreen monitor for use with my PC and XBox360 so it needs DVI and VGA inputs so I can switch between the 2 sources easily. My budget is £300.
Thanks a lot guys.

If you can push the budget up a bit, I got my Dell 2005FPW for £340.
That's a great price, where did you get it for that amount?Originally Posted by Yohji
Edit: The viewsonic 2025 looks better on paper with 800:1 contrast ratio and 8ms response time. What makes you recommend the dell that makes it worth the £50 over the viewsonic?

The dell has an extra video input (The yellow one). Not really worth all that extra money though of you ask me. The Viewsonic looks great for the price.
I use the VGA cable for the 360 anyway so DVI and VGA are all I need. Have you personally used the viewsonic because I'd liek a hands on opinion before I make a purchase.Originally Posted by Odc
I got the VX2025wm this week and have been very impressed.
How much and where from?Originally Posted by TomViolence
I got a vx2025 last week - impressed so far under £300 as well (scan link as above )
I have the Dell 2005FPW, am very happy with it, but from specs and for your needs you may well be best off getting the viewsonic.
Either that, or the 19" Acer, the resolution is only 1440 x 900 but can be found at loads of places for approx £170 - better value for money (but i'd still get the 20").

viewsonic 2025 gets my vote
I also have the 200FPW and am happy with it. One of the significant features is the 1 to 1 pixel mapping. I am not sure if the viewsonic will do that?
vx2025 doesn't do 1:1 mapping by default, but having said that I was messing about setting resolutions for a game the other day and it did produce a 1:1 picture. Most of the time it stretches the image, I was a bit worried about it too, but as long as you're using widescreen resolutions tbh the picture looks just fine!Originally Posted by budgie
edit: I believe you can use some gfx drivers to produce 1:1 mapping by the driver adding black borders to ramp it up to 1680x1050 etc?
I'd also recommend the viewsonic but Dell isnt bad either and can be had for less than £250 on the forums which i think is a bargain
I would go for the vx2025 but its not in stock at the moment...
Thanks for all the advice. I'm going to hold out until the end of the month and check my financial situation. I must say I'm severely tempted by a 2407.
