    Question Dell EP196

Anyone got experiences of this E196FP or the 17" equivalent as I am thinking of purchasing one?

I would be using for Gaming/DVD/web browsing.

    Thanks.

I had the e176fp before I got my 2005fpw. I was more than happy with it, nice screen and performed well. I was told it couldn't be good for gaming as the response time wasn't high enough but I never noticed any problems. I only replaced it as I wanted widescreen, I have actually kept it as a second monitor type thing for the family as I liked it so much. Defintely better in looks and quality than your average digimate etc equivalent.

I got 10 of these for the office.
They're perfectly fine for office use, so you can tick that web browsing suitability box of yours.
Personally, I couldn't really tolerate them for games or DVDs myself, the response time is too high for me on games, and there wasn't enough contrast for videos to look good.
There's no DVI, but I'm not sure whether you'll be too fussed over that.

That said, it does look better than some of the more generic types as Dark Horse says.
More form over function, but it depends how picky you are over your functions
