Is there any way of "centering" web pages on a widescreen monitor?

How do you center a web page so that it stays in the middle of the screen rather than going to the left as in the examples below?

    For example:-

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main...npirates04.xml
    or
    http://www.timesonline.co.uk/global/

Is there any way of doing it in Firefox or IE or is it just the way that the HTML/webpage has been written?

The average webpage needs <body align="center"> in it's makeup (or some css to that effect, depending on design) to align center, some web browsers (like I.E.) allow you to define your own stylesheet for accessability purposes, but using it to force align center is just a bad idea, a lot of (even standards complient) websites design pages left or right align on purpose and probibly wont account for a center alignment, so any elements that have a fixed position will stay while everything else goes awayyy off..

You could just try not maximising your browser and work more efficently with your big ole widescreen

Dare I say that might only be useful for sites you regularly visit which you'd want to put in the effort for changing, rather than for general browsing?

You could turn your browser window into a floating window instead of having it maximised and then position it in the middle of the screen.

    lol

you lot would reinvent the wheel if you could
