Does anyone know what the X1900RX is?

I came across Club3D X1900RX 256Mb on the internet for £210. It says its based on the R580 core. From what I can see, its the same as the 1900XT but with less memory and clocked lower at 575MHz vs 625MHz and the memory is 1.2GHz vs 1.45GHz.

Does it look like a good deal considering the X1900XT can be had for £240? Does anyone know more about this card?

Sounds like a X1900GT basically. It's not as fast as a 7900GT, but if you could find it cheaper it might be worth a look.

Its funny how different companies add different letters on the end of a card, almost all the time are from Car engines, lol.

Yeah, its actually a X1900GT. The naming is so confusing. I was hoping it was something different. Thx for the replies.

An X1900GT is actually faster than a 7900GT in most games and only just behing in Opengl so overall is a better card than the 7900GT.

Sounds like a good deal although you can find an an X1900XT 512 for ~£200 and a 256mb version for ~£175.

OcUK have their 'fans', but there's little argument that they're usually the cheapest (often by a long way) for ATi-based cards - certainly the top end ones anyway.

Thats an excellent price and would be a good alternative to the x1800xt.

    Connect3D ATI Radeon X1800 XT 256MB GDDR3 AVIVO TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express)

£135 + P&P from OCUK gets my vote too.

I was in this very position last month & after exhaustive reading I plumped for the card above. It does seem to be faster than the X1900RX /GT in all the reviews I read.

With the card running at stock speeds I get 10250 in 3DMark 05 with the following components.

    ASUS A8N Sli
    Athlon 4000+ San Diego (@ 2.8GHZ)
    Crucial DDR400 2 x 1gb Dual Channel Kit

I paid £165 all in a few weeks ago so the above price is a steal!

I didn't realize the x1800xt was that cheap. In that case the x1800xt would definitely be the better option. I picked up an x1800xt with the VF900 for £145 from Ebay about 6 weeks ago and its a fine card. You can probably play most recent games at medium-high settings .
