Catalyst 6.6 problems

Any here having problem with Catalyst 6.6 drivers? I've just installed them after a fresh reinstall and I cannot get my monitor (Viewsonic VP231WB) to go to 1920*1200. I just get a blank screen then it reverts back to the previous screen res. Max I can get is 1600*1200 which means it's stretched. When I used 6.5 before I rebuilt by PC I had no problems.

Are there any of other drivers I can use for my X1900XTX that aren't Catalyst? I've heard of others in the past but have forgotten the names of them.

Anyone here got a similar card and have a similar problem? Or using different drivers?

There are Omega and Dhzeropoint drivers but they are only modified cats.

I would just change back to the previous cats which worked. Most of the releases this year have only have performance increases for Crossfire so it doesn't really make much odds which one you use as long as it works for you.

I have had resolution problems with the cats a number of times.....do you have another screen attached to the gfx card that isn't widescreen?

No addtional screen connected, but when I go into Display Properties, it does show a second screen there, could this be the problem?

Possibly. I have had issues where it thinks screen 1 is screen 2 and visa-versa....could be what your getting with a ghost-screen...

I had to go into CCC and fiddle with the screen assignments to swap them around......its a bit of a pain and not very intuitive I'm afraid

before you go back to 6.5 .... have you installed (or re-installed) the Viewsonic display driver?
