    6800GS AGP Cooling Solutions

I just bought a Gainward Bliss 6800GS 256 MB card, one that Gainward seems to pretend doesn't exist. It's a 450/1200 MHz NV41 (A3) (overclocks easily to 500/1300, haven't tried more yet), PCIe part bridged down to AGP, which is unusual since most 6800GSes are native NV42 AGP parts, no? At least I'm fairly certain it's a PCIe part, since RivaTuner says it's an NV41 (and it has 12pp/5vp, not 16/6 with 4/1 masked like a regular GS). If so, I'm not sure where the HSI chip is located (I haven't removed the cooler yet); it could be under that cooler, or possibly beneath the odd-looking heatspreader/heatsink backplate on the back side of the card. I think I've seen a few cards with a bridge chip on the back side of the card, or maybe that's just ATi's.

Anyway, I'm not quite sure what aftermarket cooling solution to use (the default one kind of sucks). From what I can tell, no Arctic Cooling NV Silencer will fit due to the HSI chip? How about the Zalman Vf700 + Zalman's HSI heatsink, will that fit? The Vf900 is a no-go, right? I'm loath to buy something just to later find out I have to return it...

[Edit]: Here's a picture Layout looks exactly the same with cooler attached, even though that's the slower, 512 MB version. Not sure what core that one's using though.

    Thanks.

You can have the core sink off and have a look.. should be pretty easy fitting it back again..

From there only decide whether the VF900 works or not..
    Me want Ultrabook

    I got sidelined...

Anyway, I removed the heatsink, and it does have an HSI chip, in an unorthodox location.
I don't have a digital camera, but I managed to find a photo someone else took with the same exact layout:

[Apparently I'm not trusted to post an URL anymore, even though I could in my first post.]

Any ideas of what could fit on there, or am I stuck up a creek here?

Hi, my first post here to answer your question.
I have the same card and unfortunately nothing on market will fit on it.
The only hope is a new brand of passive heatsink: Condor from ww w.aero-case.com
They make custom HS, and I spoke with them, unfortunately standard HS is ~ $60, a tax for custom HS ~$25, and with shipping fee to my country I must pay more than card itself.
This is a quote from their answer:
We would be glad to build you a custom version of our Condor cooler for this video card. Our custom order charges begin at $25 plus the cost of the Condor Cooler ($59.95). We would require the exact measurements of the mounting holes on the card in millimeters, horizontal and vertical distance, plus the diagonal distance (crosswise).
    But maybe you're interested.
