Video output while playing a file

When I connect my laptop (Toshiba) to my TV and play a video in Windows Media Player, the video automatically takes over the video output and displays the video on the TV without any of the GUI garb, even when WMP is then minimised on the laptop.

I would like to do the same using my desktop which has a 9800 AIW card. I've got the s-video output working fine, but all it does is show an exact replica of my monitor.

So, is there a way to output the video to my TV in the same way as with the laptop? I want to be able to play a video on my PC to my TV while still being able to use my computer.

I think you need to get ATi Hydravision to set up multiple monitors...
