    Un-Bend an X1900XT ?

its a fact, im cursed with graphics cards

I just took delivery today of an connect3d X1900XT from savastore, and apart from it looking like a second hand/well used card, the pcb is banana shaped and the pci bracket is bent as well. its going back on monday for a 3 week rma (grrr) but is the banana pcb problem sortable?...what i mean is, is the pcb bent because of the stock cooler, and will it straighten out if i take it off and put a waterblock on it?

i could straighten the pci bracket myself if the banana shaped pcb is mendable.

    cheers

My X1900XT-X came like this :S, I was not impressed but it seems to work fine . And I checked to make sure it wasn't a relabeled R520. After putting the xcelero on all is well

remember there are lots of layers of circuitry inside that you cant see that could have worn loose

i would send it back or at least turn it into a funky multi-curved wave design instead of just a banana

managed to un-bend the pci bracket, that was the most worrying thing and it fits snug with the stock cooler on, looks like i need to get the dremel out to fit the maze 4 because of the northbridge heatsink and wifi card thingy on the motherboard..hmmm.

At the time of release some people had RMAd their card saying they had an X1900 and had put the X1900 stock fans and stuff and I thought I had received an RMA card.

Do not try and bend the card, only try to realise there is no card.

Most graphics cards tend tyo be a little bent or warped, if it stable and working, then keep it I guess, might cause problem down the line if it needs RMA'ing though

I purchased an X1800XT 512MB when they first came out i paid £411. inc delivery, it was delivered next day, and when i opened the package it was bent at one end and bent at the metal end, i thought to myself you can shove that, i sent it back and exchanged it for another one. The inner box the card sat in was bent outta shape too, so it must of got damaged, bent, in transit.
