    Thanks for the spot Buff!

Installing an ATI Radeon® X1x00 series of product on certain nVidia Nforce 4 platforms no longer results in the operating system failing to respond or the operating system exhibiting general instability when running 3D applications.

lol i'm not so sure gaining 2mhz on the core and 13mhz on the memory is worth reverting back to a previous driver set :|

Doh i never explained properly, with the ccc 6.4 in ATI Overdrive i was able to move the slider to 651/767 or 671/777 or higher click apply and that was it, but with the ccc 6.6 and 6.7 if i move the slider to 651 it drops to 648, i can't even get 651 with ccc 6.7 , if i move the slider to 660 it drops for some reason to 655. Like i said in ccc 6.4 i could request exact overclock, it's no big deal realy just something i have noticed in the last two driver sets.

This is the max i can get in 6.7, no doubt it'll crashout in games lol.

You don't want to use CCC to overclock anyways, it's useless.

Use the lastest version of Rivatuner.

XT series (9600XT and 9800XT for instance) were the first to report the temps I believe .

    Aye chief, that's true.
I see, said the blind man to his deaf wife as he stuck his wooden leg out of the door to feel if it was raining.

    Strange, I can get my Connect3D X1800XT 256 to 698/797 with 6.7?

Should have said a bit more....

I use a Zalman VF700-CU & the max temp I have seen while running at these speeds is 73o.

This is quite a jump from the max stock temp of 63o but its stable & fast as hell. I get just over 10k in 3DMark 05.

Yeah i was thinking you had your card under water with those speeds, which are top notch by the way. Is it the VF700 or the VF900?. Oh and can you tell me ....Do i install the newest ati drivers and then install rivatuner? i forgot what to do, if i use atitool do i install newest ati drivers?. I have done this in the past but i can't remember in what order, i have drawn a complete blankety blank. I'm still having overdrive issues with ccc 6.7.

    thanks for any help.

If you want to use atitool, then install JUST the display driver and the VIVO drivers, then everything will work fine, but when you go to control panel->Display->Advanced, then there will just be some generic tabs. This is because CCC hasnt been installed as the interface to the extra options.

This is where you install the newest version of whatever 3rd party tool you want to do your tweaking ie. Atitool/Ati Tray Tools/Riva tuner. That should sort it out.

As a side, I am using these drivers with 6.7 and i think that they are getting the memory usage and startup times lower, this is - IMO - the best release since 6.3 and its great for OGL too now, as Prey has shown me...

IQ is subjective as ever, but I'm not looking for errors. If it runs fine then it all good...
