PCI-e graphics card <£130 - suggestions please

Hey, looking for the best possible performance card under £130. Basically looking for a new card, although could be persuaded to go 2nd hand if the price was right.

After about 2 hours looking I’ve sort-of-maybe decided on a X1800GTO from ebuyer.

Any advice or other suggestions would be much appreciated.

Cheers,
Temp

From some reviews I've read I would lean more towards the 7600 GT

Dabs have an inno3d 7600GT for £105, however if you can push a 'little' higher (& if you trust them) OCUK have an X1800XT for £152....

Well, i tried ordering the X1800XT this morning from scan.

But, according to one of the phone representative on scan, they've discontinued the X1800's. What the hell The card hasn't been around that long to be discontinued. But that's apparently what's happened anyway.

I heard they were going out, got too many 'newer' (if you want to call them that) cards x1900xt etc to compete with the x1800xt, grab one while you can!

7600GT, it just seems to have the edge over the slightly more expensive Radeon which you will struggle to find for <£130, less noisy too. That said if a good deal comes up on the x1800gto nothing wrong with going for it, both are pretty simillar in performance.

If you don't go above 1280x1024, then I think the 7600GT would be better....

If you go above that resolution and like AA, hunt out an ATI

In terms of noise, what is the 7600GTlike, and are there any quieter than the others?

Thanks for all the replies guys!

The 7600gt does look like a contender in that price range - any ideas which is cooler?

I also like the look of the 1800xt seeing as it's only another £20 from OCUK and is signicantly faster (unless i'm wrong?)

It is quite loud.. well the XXX edition is, glad I don't have to live with it tbh. Memories of stock X1900 cooler...

I read that the 7600GT was a lot quieter than the 7900GT, but have no reference to anything else, sorry. Certainly it runs cool from most accounts.

Also agreed - 7600GT is a very good choice.
