    New System! What Graphics card??

I have just orderd everything to build a new comp apart from the graphics card as i am having trouble deciding what to get!

The system i am building is the following:

    Amd am2 duel core 4600
    Asus am2 motherboard
    Cosair ddr2 1GB memory
    Coolmaster case &psu etc!

So it is not a bad computer but not the best! I am building on a budget! So what would the best graphics card be for gaming i play cs source and other steam games, i also do a little cad work!

I am looking to spend about £100 but may be able to strech the budget alitle!

    Look forward to your reply's

    Cheers
    Rob

At aroud the £100 mark go for the cheapest 7600GT you can find.
    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=370152 for £121.76

If you really can't go that far then a 7600GS

Agreed with the above - the 7600gt is very good performance for the money.

Also look at the 1600pro by ATI - very cheap and surprisingly good performance in modern games.

7600GS is not a good buy, the 7600GT is definitely the way to go.

The 7300GT beats the 7600GS in some benchies...

I would say that the 7600GT would be best. However, if you want performance in the most demanding game on the market (Oblivion), the x1600 pro would probably beat the 7600GT, but it would lose in other games.

If you can stretch to 150quid, you have the X1800XT. otherwise one of the 7600Gt's.

    X1800XT 256MB

Around £150 ATM & worth every penny.

A bit more of a power monster than the 7600 with more heat to boot, but one hell of a fast card.

    I get around 10K in 3DMark 05 with Athlon 64 4000+ & 2GB of Value Ram.

    Dabs are doing a 'dabsvalue' (appears to be inno3d) 7600GT for £105, £7 P&P

Another vote for an X1800XT here youd be better stretching just a little more. If you really cant though then the Dabs 7600GT would do nicely

The Dabs value cards are unbeatable for value for money.
Their 7600GT is £105 plus delivery.
The 7600GS is only £65 however, which on a value / performance chart would make EVERY OTHER CARD EVER MADE look like a pile of puke.
I have the Inno3d 7600GT, swapped the cooler for a Zalman and it's fast, fun and inaudible.

The ATi Radeons look good in benchmarks but are bigger, noisier, suck more power and generally bully the other cards in your case. The NVidias are lovely.
