Xbox HD without a HD input?

Hi all, I have a Philips HD LCD TV which sais "HD Ready" on it . I know it can support HD resoultions but it doesn't have the conventional HD ports (the three video input) It has a DVI port though? Is there any way of linking my 360 to my TV so I can have it HD?
Thanks for any help you can give

Haven't tried this although there's no reason why it shouldn't work. Get a 360 VGA cable and attach a VGA/ DVI adaptor to connect it to the TV.

that'll remove the HD bit as VGA can only stream in analogue rather than digital. Head to maplin and get urself a RCA to DVI adaptor, or go to ebay and search for an xbox dvi cable

No it won't. Component (referred to by the OP as the three video input) is analogue and outputs HD perfectly. A VGA cable will output a HD signal from the 360 perfectly. If you can get a DVI cable then that's better otherwise my original suggestion stands.

Indeed - the VGA cable for Xbox360 outputs in 720p - I saw one in action on Thursday

(I believe VGA can't do interlaced?)

Can't help with the interlacing question The majority of people using VGA cables have been connecting them to LCD TVs which currently don't have higher resolutions that 768 on the vertical so there's been no scope to try 1080i.

I think that'll do the job nicely. Remember the VGA/ DVI convertor though. You might've got one with your PC/ monitor/ graphics card.

I've ran my Xbox 360 both through Component (the 3 analogue you mention) and VGA and both support 720p quite happily.

    Works for me at least

If you have the Phillips 26" 26PF3320/10 let me know as I have just sold this tv I use to have and still have all the leads that I used to connect the xbox to the HD channel....

If it is the phillips then its a pain tbh as if you just use the official xbox cables then it just displays that the video cant be displayed in the current resolution, with the TV you should have got a 3 male phono cable to a dvi connector, if you are using the HD cable for the xbox you can connect this to the cable with the tv with some phono adapters this works fine with the Phillips.

Everyone has agreed that using a VGA cable with a DVI convertor will give you a hi def picture.
