    D3derr_driverinternalerror ?

I'm using a 7900GTX and have already had to send one back because it was artifacting, so am praying that this is not a hardware issue. I'm not seeing the same problems, though, so here's hoping. >.<

I can play CS:S, Flatout2 and Civ IV without any problems, but I couldn't seem to get B&W2 to work. I ran 3DMark06 and got the following error at the beginning of the CPU Test:

"IDirect3DDevice9: Present failed: Driver internal error (D3DERR_DRIVERINTERNALERROR)"

After the error the screen goes pretty much black everywhere except where there are buttons, or occasionally just turns itself on and on giving me a few seconds to glimpse at the screen each time.

I'm running the 91.31 version of the nVidia drivers and have tried uninstalling and reinstalling them, but it doesn't seem to have had any effect.

Does anybody have any ideas as to what the problem might be and/or have any advice regarding how to fix it? Cheers in advance.

    Unhappy

Try running DXDiag see if that gives you any suggestions, it will point out if any DirectX files are missing.
    (Start\Run\'Dxdiag'\ok)

Failing that try reinstalling DirectX and see if that helps.

Sorry that isn't a concrete answer but it may help.

I tried using dxdiag and it presented no issues. There were no problems with the DirectDraw or Direct3D tests. Also, there are no files missing.
