R9700 Pro New Heatsink
Hi All
I have had this 9700 Pro for a while now, and the fan i think has started to give up the goose! So i need to replace it, i was hoping to get a silent heatpipe if possible, does anyone know of such a thing?
Reviews or links would be appreciated!

I had this zalman heatpipe on my old 9700pro:

It was fine even without the optional fan. You can also buy the latest model with 2 heatpipes from Quiet PC. It should still be compatible with the 9700:

Yup, I have that Zalman on an old 9700Pro, works a charm even fanless.

Arctic VGA silencer was also very good on those, vented out the back and silent.

Hey Guys
Thanks for all the info, i'll have a read about those and pick the best for me, seem a good price which is good too!

What about a Zalman VF900?? You could run the fan at lower speeds! I know it is not totally silent but passive cooling means that your card is going to be quite hot unless you have good airflow in your case!!

£25 on a hs+f for a 9700 pro?! nah just grab one of these

Hi
I tried one of those Vantec coolers before, and its too noisey for me. Thats why i wanted to go passive. I have excellent airflow in the case 2 pull and 1 push SilenX 120mm fans so im not to fussed about the heat the passive will create.
I order one of the Zalmans mentioned in the first post, hopefully it will be here today!

I got one for 15 quid off EBay. The advantage is that when you get a new card you could probably use it on that one also!

I got mine from ebay too, cost me £18 i think plus delivery!
Hope it does come today, the fan noise is too much now ive had to turn the PC off :(
-
Yey, it arrived and is installed! Working fine, with no blue smoke, lol.
Anyway, id like to see what temps its running at, ive tried ATI Tool but it doesnt show temps, well not that i can see anyway!
Does anyone happen to know a program that will show its temp?
-
I don't think the 9700 has a temp monitor built in.
