    What graphics card

    Hi everyone.
Just ordered an Abit NF7-S v2.0 nForce2 motherboard.
    AMD XP3000+ 400fsb CPU
A gig of Crucial 400 ram

I want an animal of a graphics card at about a 300 quid budget.
    Got to be overclockable.
    Any suggestions?

9800PRO or XT are the best cards you can buy ( both under £300)

could try a 9800SE and hope it softmods i guess, but if you have £300, might as well get the pro/XT

You have to first hope you get a 9800SE with 256bitDDR and fast clocks, even then your stock perf is that of the 9600XT but without any hope of a good o/c. Chances of successful modding are small ... if you can afford something more grab a 9800PRO as it's the top 'top card'. FX5900/5950 and the 9800XT are not worth the money the demand ... if you have the cash 9800PRO is the way to go. If you want to save some money you can get either a 9800 or 9700PRO (virtually identical) and o/c them. 9800PRO can be had for around £220 (Komplett IIRC).
