    X1950XT-X for a 24" Dell ???????

Currentley running my Dell 2405 with a X1800XT256, it's pretty good, Plays WoW at 1900 x 1200 with most bits on. BF2 at 1600 x 1200 and thats my staple diet at the moment.
Even plays Oblivion at full res with settings on 50 -60 % at what I deem to be playable settings.

    HOWEVER.......................

I fancy changing to something more powerful and with faster frame rates, and I have just started looking at the 7950 v x1950xt-x. Now I know that Sawyen has had problems with WoW on SLI so I am thinking that the ATI sounds like a better option - what do you guys think?????

Will the ATI be able to play most up to date games at 1900 x 1200 with most bits on???

And also how much would I be able to ask for a 4 month old X1800XT 256 with Zalman 900

Thanks as always in advance guys.

The x1950 will do great in WoW and BF2. SLi and wow dont mix well from what I read, dont play it myself though.

the X1800XT should get you £125, maybe a little less when the X1950 actually hits the shops.

Has anyone seen a bench against a X1800XT256, I'm probably asking too much as the card isn't officially available yet, but if anyone stumbles over one please let me know

Google, there are benchies against the X1800XT 512mb.

Tbh your better of getting a X1900XT,and geting some quality cooling on it, rather than a X1950.

A 7950 is faster, a good option if you can stand nvidia's numourus pitfalls.

I'd get an X1950 as they don't cost too much more, although if you can pick up a bargainous X1900XT then do it. Deffo a decent speed bump from an X1800

Can't stress this enough tbh. X1950 definitely not worth buying over the X1900, esp. with the X1900 at the current prices.

Agreed, the X1950 gives minimal performance advantage over the X1900.

It leaves you with two options, X1900XT for a small yet relatively inexpensive upgrade. Or a 7950GX2 for a bigger performance upgrade but quite a lot more cost.

Personally I would wait as non of those cards will do oblviosn max with AA at 1920x1200. The next gen cards coming out soon might.

The X1950 isn't to bad at £300 though. And for people who don't want to swap cooler, i.e keep thee warrenty, it's not a bad idea.
