Viewsonic 2025ws keeps dropping DVI signal..fixes?

Possibly the only part of this pc that hasnt been RMA'd yet is the Viewsonic 2025ws. it has started to drop the DVI signal. i get a picture on the monitor right up to the windows loading screen and then it just goes black. if i connect up a vga cable as well, i get to windows no problem, only i cant use the native resolution of 1680x1050...just 1600x1200.

the first time it did this was a couple of weeks ago and its not done it since, until tonight.

so far, i have tried vga cable and dvi cable connected at the same time (didnt work this time, but worked last time), i have tried turning the monitor off at the mains for 30 mins (no luck with that either).

ive seen a lot of people with the same problem, but there seems to be a lot of hit and miss fixes.

    any ideas?

    thanks

There was a solution with the DVI recovery tool.

Although I don't own a 2025WS, I think you may also need to check your VGA Card

One of my two DVI port on my 6600GT seems to be broken (don't know how), while the D-Sub worked through the converter.

If you card only have single DVI and it died then even if your RMA your monitor it won't work.

Page2 of the [H] link have people saying it worked on one computer but not another.

Thanks, the card appears to be ok, the pc boots up fine on a standard monitor with DVI, just not the viewsonic. the card has 2 x dvi and both appear to be working ok with the other monitor, so its looking like its going to have to be rma'd.

    now to find another monitor.

    Hi,

Did you try both DVI ports? And try changing the DVI cable?

If your going to change the TFT look at the new 22" coming!
