    What games do you play?

If you play branching shader heavy games, such as Oblivion and possibly FEAR then the X1900GT has better performance for heavy shader operations.

If you play openGL games (quake4, prey etc.) then the 7900GT has better performance in these games.

Otherwise it's relatively even, with the 7900GT maybe having the slight edge, but the X1900GT having less of a hit when you enable image quality enhancements.

Racing games need AA and AF from what I remember, so I'd recommend the 1900GT. Not that the 7900GT isn't also a good buy, but the ATI has the very slight edge when it comes to cost/performance with AA/AF.

And the shimmering.. the last thing you want to see when driving on GTR or GT Legends are cars far in front of you that look like poo..

Though the effects are purely subjective tho, you can imagine them as being heat waves from the scorching track..
    Me want Ultrabook
