    Viewsonic RMA What the?

Just received the replacement for my 5 week old vx2025ws and im a bit horrified at what i have been sent. its a dirty old marked screen, smears everywhere.

i just cant believe that they would send a replacement screen out without making sure it is clean.

im going to get them to come and pick it up, but before i do, is this the norm from Viewsonic?

    grrrrr.

    Hi there,

I think the replacements they send are 2nd hand or refurbs. Clean the screen (if its just smears) if its working perfectly.

Viewsonics RMA service is not the best!

    Thanks.

just spoke to Viewsonic, they wanted me to clean it and take pictures, the bloke even launched into a pre written script on how to clean a monitor...shame they didnt bother taking their own advice.

Ouch, do you have to pay for delivery to send them back and forth?

I would seriously not take it, threaten with watchdog and legal action.

    Thanks.

I purchased new a VP171-b, eight months later the lcd keeps swithching off, i spoke to viewsonic support over the phone and they arranged a replacement. Oh yeah i got a refurbed model, you could tell, it looked crap and there was a dead dull red pixel in the middle of the screen i phoned them again and they arranged another replacement this time it was a newer model.

They have refused to send me another because of the known fault with this model, they said it would just happen again. this particular monitor is absolutely knackered, it makes a loud clicking noise and garbles the picture before flashing on and off, needing a mains power down and back up. they also said that the issue might be able to be fixed with a firmware update, but they wouldnt give me a definate date, so i rang scan and told them and they agreed to refund me for it if viewsonic emailed them with it in writing....of course viewsonic dont have email accounts (alledgedly) and on the phone they told scan it would be fixed in 2 weeks. to be honest, i dont want another one of these now.

sounds about right then, luckily ive not had any dead pixels yet, i would have been pretty miffed if it had dead pixels as well as the other stuff
