    Cheapo card for newer games

What card would you recommend that could still handle playing some of the more upto date games but not bankrupt me - was looking at the Radeon 7800 pro which seems to hold favour as a good card.....
Not really up on the latest and greatest so any advice much appreciated - budget around £50-£60 - s/h if needed.

    Cheers!!

A cheap 7600GS is probably the best bet at that price. 6800GT might be worth a look if you can find one second hand at the right price.

I agree with teachmech, at that price range I would go for the 7300GT GDDR3 and overclock like crazy.

Is there a big performance difference between the DDR2 and DDR3 models?
SCAN only have DDR2 but Dabs have a DDR3 (Dabs Value) one for £70

Go for the DDR3 model as it is much much better.

I think 7600GS is the best value card under £100 market. But it would slightly over your £60 budget. According to this, I think an extreme version 7300GT would be the ideal choise for this kind of money.

My friend is shipping me a brand new Galaxy 7300GT DDR3 version with Zalman fan installed.

    Product details are as followed:
    Galaxy 7300GT

It has 8 pipes and extremely high clock at 500/1200 and can be overclocked to 7600GS's performances. If you are interested, please pm me or drop me an email at hellojerry@hotmail.com

Not wanting to throw a spanner in the works or anything, but isn't that an AGP card you've currently got, and a PCI-E card being suggested? If that's so, it isn't going to work!

I'd also be concerned the way it looks like someone's photoshopped (badly) the DDR box to add a 3 in

Agreed, the GeForce 7300GT with 8 pipes of GDDR3 memory represents great value, the benchmarks show in general its better than the 6600GT and its cheaper and more overclockable too.

    7300GT DDR3 is similar to a 7600GS.
I'd go the dabs one right now if I hadn't gone and bought an x800GTO2.

Yup, a flashed/unlocked X800GTO2 will run circles around both cards and is pretty much on par (sometimes better) then a 7600GT.
