I will soon be getting a 7950gt 512mb for my gaming rig. The best price I've found is a Leadtech from Scan for £200.93. http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=466119
Is it cheaper anywhere else? Thanks.

Why?
A X1900XT can be had for that price and is better.
The cheapest x1900xt Scan have is for £259.66. Where did you see one at the ~£200 mark?
Komplett have some nice prices. Ebuyer were selling a 512mb X1900 a week ago for less than 200.
A 256mb X1900XT is cheaper than a 7950GT and still a better card.

£217 http://www.microdirect.co.uk/Product...99&GroupID=330
do you think it overclocks well?
Ok thanks for the advice. I'll go and check out those x1900xt's then. I've heard that their stock coolers are a bit loud. Is this true? What replacment coolers are recommended?
The Artic Silencer is always recommended. They are the best air cooling solution for all graphic cards in the market. Great cooling effects and extremely quiet. Even you had 2 of these fans set up in your system(eg. Crossfire set up), the noise level would still lower than your CPU fan.
But not worth the extra money. Buy a normal one, and keep the fan speed controlled. If you have a cool room/case it won't spin up very much anyways.
The Zalman V-900 is better.
hmmm.... i would still go for the 7900GT. a small mod and it clocks past 7900GTX speeds for £168... kicks 1900XT butt
depends on your budget really... a modded 7900GT (and possibly the 7950GT) will be as fast as a 7900GTX, which is faster than a stock 1900XT for less money.
but, if you can afford the 1900XT, it is obviously a better card, a bit faster and slightly better image quality.
I guess warranty obviously comes into play as well. X1900XT can be had with speed + a valid warranty..
a modded 7900GT or 7950GT will leave you with speed but NO warranty..
.. and of course volt modding will in majority of cases hurt the card's longevity as well.. I've seen lots of volt mods gone bad... they obviously stripped down the components for a reason..
Me want Ultrabook
The voltage modules on the 7900GT are dodgy enough as it is
Besides, if you're going to compare OC/modded cards, at least do the same for the X1900XT which also OC's something wicked.
