Well if it's any use. My 7800GT(comparative to X1800XT) finds optimal at 495/1140. Compared to 400/1000 stock.

I'll have some 7950GT results later today.

I would have thought a 7800GT is more comparable to a X1800XL.. the X1800XT is meant to take on 7800GTX and the 7900GT..
    Me want Ultrabook

    Agreed.

In order of over-clocking potential (alone) I would place them in the following order:

    7900GS > X1900XT > X1800XT 512 > 7950GT (very dependant on manufacturer/memory chip selection) > X1800XT 256 > 7900GTO > 1900XTX

Of course, you can't gaurentee anything as there are always going to be wild variences between even the same versions of a card.

Right just had a play with the 7950GT. 637/800 on the stock gainward cooler. Quite big,but not to good really. I'll be sticking a VF900 on it tomorrow.

Thank you for your information and all the members above. I do appreciate you help. If you guys bought things from me in the future, I would be grateful to give you £5 discount on any items. Please quote your ID in HEXUS
By the way, CHUCKSKULL mate, how do you get on with your 7950GT now?
I have 2pcs of 7900GS 256MB and 1pc of 7900GS 512MB in stock right now, haven't got a chance to test them yet. Hopefull they would overclock as well as yours. To be honest, 637/800 is not bad at all;P

http://img82.imageshack.us/img82/5750/clockscb7.jpg Not bad at all. thats with a fata1ity vf900 @ 5v. 12v doesn't allow it to clock any higher and barely drops the temps.

    Just over 11k in 3Dmark.
