Honest comment, worth the trouble? (X1800XT 512MB --> 7900GTO)

Well I sort of saw that I can get my X1800XT off at the local CEX for £170+.. seeing that the 7900GTO now goes for under £190, is the £20 worth the trouble?

I just recently upgraded my cooler as well, so noise on the X1800XT is N/A.. its whisper quiet now..

I know what does the 7900GTO offer in terms of performance, just that I need some better reasons to pull me over/back..

I personally would stick with the x1800 until DX10 - but that is really a decision based on how its performing with the games you are currently playing. If you need a boost then my opinion would be to wait until the x1950 comes out properly, and buy an x1900xtx or something

I'd do it, but I'm obsessed with framrates and IQ. One shear or patch of slowdown and I'm straight off to scan

I'd shift the X1800XT while they'll still give you that much for it. Come DX10 the 7900GTO will have better resale value.

well in all honesty, the X1800XT 512MB doesnt have any problems handling anything at my native resolutions.. even Oblivion for that matter..

Its just my wallet and ego thats giving me a hard time..

If you play Oblivion, and you value IQ, stick with the X1800.

If you want to get an extra few fps in games like FEAR, and want to reduce the noise, get the 7900GTO.
