    Yet another monitor thread

I'm after a 19" monitor to be used for games games games. I think I have narrowed it down to these:

    Samsung SM940BF
    http://www.savastore.com/productinfo...fication&pid=0

    BenQ FP93GX
    http://www.savastore.com/productinfo...fication&pid=0

    Viewsonic VX922
    http://www.savastore.com/productinfo...=0&rstrat=3240

Has anyone used them, and have any thoughts? Alternatively if there is any other one I've missed I'll consider that too. Don't really have a budget but I reckon about £200 will buy me what I want

    Thanks All

Would you be mortally offended if I told you that 2ms isn't the same scoring system as other sites or manufacturers use?

In fact, you can't even trust the same manufacturer to advertsie it's monitors using the same standards.

So, while I don't know the answer, I'm gonna ask it:

Is 2ms really the response time from black to white and back to black?

I've got a VX912 (the model before the 922), which apparently only has a response speed of 12ms. I've never had any problems with it.

Not at all old chap; it's grey-to-grey. In fact I think on a couple of them at least, it's only 2ms if you switch on acceleration which limits the number of colours to 256k or something; not sure what effect this has on image quality though. They probably more like 6ms - 8 ms black to black.

I'm upgrading from a 17" 16ms Hitachi CML175SXWB (IIRC), never had any issues with ghosting on that but just want an extra couple of inches, so to speak. The Hitachi, though good for its time, is also a good 2 or 3 years old now so hopefully picture quality has improved in general in the mean time too
