    Question SLI and multiple monitors

    Hi,

I'm looking at getting a SLI system preconfigured with two nVIDIA Geforce 7300GS cards. Not knowing much about SLI, I guess one card is the master and could have a second monitor plugged in?

Would it also be possible to de-SLI them into two separate graphics cards and utilise all four outputs, presuming each card has two outputs each?

The machine will be mainly used for development and design work so really need by multiple monitors.

    Thanks,

    Simon

I am not sure if they have fixed it yet as I ditched SLI a while ago, but you used to have to turn SLI off to get dual monitors working =/

Un SLI-ing them will give you 4 outputs and TBH, thats probably best as SLI 7300s seems like a waste. You would be better off with a single card solution for 3d performace.

yep, spend your money on a decent single card instead of 2 entry level ones. SLI is pointless unless you have a massive resolution screen.

SLI is also pointless unless you buy top end cards. Unless you have a burning desire for 3-4 screens get a fast single card.
